The Witcher Season Two Prediction Guide

The Witcher Season Two Prediction Guide

I’m preparing for my fourth (yes, I said fourth) watch through of Netflix’s The Witcher, which was the greatest show of 2019. As I’m recapping in my head I wonder about all the things that could’ve been in season one that weren’t and how those items will more than likely arrive in season two. Things like why we didn’t get a clear look at Vesemir and why his character hadn’t been cast yet, or even why we didn’t get more Kaer Morhen talk. All of that led to this Witcher prediction Guide though, so be prepared to… (concluding sentence needed).

Witcher Prediction #1 – Geralt and Ciri Make it to Kaer Morhen, but Not Until Late Season Two

This one may seem a little obvious, but it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be a prediction. We know at some point Cirilla will find herself at Kaer Morhen to begin her Witcher training, but there’s no shot that we jump from where season one ended into that training. I think early on we will get a lot of Geralt and Ciri bonding while they make their way to Kaer Morhen and a lot of people will be surprised with how late we actually are introduced to The Witcher training grounds (and Vesemir).

Prediction #2 – Yennefer Will Be Back, but not until AT LEAST Episode Three

It may be a shock to some but I don’t think we will have Yennefer back early on in season two. I think the writers will use the first three episodes to bring in new characters and get their stories started. All the while we sit in anticipation, and they let the suspense of what happened to Yennefer keep us on our toes. Then, when we least expect it, we will see a battered and bruised (potentially blinded) Yennefer trying to find who she really is yet again.

Witcher Prediction #3 – Ciri Will Begin her Training Before Kaer Morhen

This is a pretty simple one, but I predict that Geralt will have Cirilla training before they make it Kaer Morhen, and I think we will see plenty of it early on. I mean, come on, what else will she have to do as the dynamic duo makes their way home?

Prediction #4 – Vesemir Will Make an Appearance Before Geralt Arrives at Kaer Morhen

I think this will come in some form of a hunt in which Vesemir (and potential other “new” Witchers) will be introduced. This could potentially be how we get the rumored Leshen battle as well. It could also just be some random creature we see a group of Witchers fighting, and that might even lead us Geralt and Ciri showing up to save the day. Either way, we will definitely meet Vesemir before Geralt and Ciri make it to Kaer Morhen.

Witcher Prediction #5 – Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer will NOT reunite in Season Two

I think Yennefer is going to be off doing her own thing for all season two, and potentially even longer than that. The show is rumored to play out over seven seasons, so we could potentially see Yen wandering the realm without her two most important companions for quite some time. As I mentioned earlier, I do think we will be fairly deep into season two before Yennefer is back, but once she is, I predict we will get a ton of blind Yen.

Prediction #6 – Vilgefortz Will Show His True Power

This is something that may be a stretch, but also something that I would love to see. Vilgefortz is an absolute force to be reckoned with in the books. He is also secretly in cahoots with Emhyr var Emreis, the Nilfgaardian Emperor, who is also Duny, who is Pavetta’s husband. Confusing, I know, but this helps explain tremendously. So, I expect to see Duny and Vilgefortz working together in Season two and I also predict that we will see much more of Vilgefortz magical potential as his story unfolds.

Witcher Prediction #7 – We will get another “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” Banger

This is pure hope, but that song went so hard! We have to get another for season two you would think. Big shouts to Joey Batey for nailing that song and his role as Jaskier.

Prediction #8 – The Doppler Will Return

I’m not sure how, why, when, or as whom, but the Doppler will most definitely appear at some point throughout season two. There is too much invested into his character at this point to have him disappear the way he did and not have him be at the end of some trick. Maybe he was the Ciri Geralt met in the woods in the finale. Maybe he will pretend to be Cahir to infiltrate the Nilfgaardian Empire. He could even be a random new character that we meet who gets in with Geralt and Ciri!

Witcher Prediction #9 – Mark Hamill Will Play Vesemir

At this point, I don’t see how Lauren S. Hissrich can not cast Mark Hamill as Vesemir. I know there are loads of other potential candidates (Stellan Skarsgård, Sean Bean, or Ian McShane) that could portray the grizzled Witcher vet just as well, but Hamill has to be the one in my opinion. He would need to absolutely bomb his audition to not get the role. He would be exactly what I expected Vesemir to look like in real life and this just needs to happen (LOL).

UPDATE: Mark Hamill was extended the role of Vesemir! It’s still up in the air if he will accept, but I can’t imagine why he wouldn’t.

Prediction #10 – Philippa Eilhart Will Make an Appearance

Philippa is a sorceress known to have the extremely rare ability to polymorph. The Royal Court Mage to King Vizimir of Redania can take the form of an owl and is inherently neither good nor evil. I’m almost 100% positive Philippa will make an appearance because there has been rumors that Vizimir and Dijkstra will be making appearances in season two. If that rumor is true, you’d think it’s safe to assume that the kings loyal court mage would also appear and flex her magical prowess.

Witcher Prediction #11 – Geralt’s Company Will Begin to Form

Angoulême, Regis, Milva, and Zoltan Chivay are all members of Geralt’s Company that could begin to materialize in season two. Depending on how season two goes, any of these characters could be introduced, however, I think Zoltan makes the most sense to find his way on to the show. The other three are all pieces of Geralt’s team when he is looking for Cirilla after she disappears, and since the two haven’t even made it to Kaer Morhen, Ciri hasn’t begun training or disappeared yet, I find it a little harder to find them sneaking their way into the season.

Unfortunately for all of us, we’re still about a year out from seeing if any of these Witcher predictions come true. I know it’s a long way away, but I’m sure there will be plenty of new developments that keep our appetites satires over the coming months. Filming is set to begin soon, so be on the lookout for final character castings and other reviews here. I’m very intrigued to know what everyone else’s Witcher predictions for season two are, so be sure to comment below!
